Costume Institute Gala 2011: The good, the bad and the ugly

Hello lovely readers!
So on monday the fashion event the the year, the Costume Institute  Gala 2011, took place in New York.
It was a ode to the late Alexander McQueen, with lots of celebs strutting their stuff in his designs.
As with the Oscars and Baftas, let me put my two cents into the fashion worn by the stars during this event.

The Good

Diana Agron wore a beautiful red gown by Michael Kors.
I love the greek godess feel to this dress and love red on blondes.

Salma... How much do I love this dress?!
This dress was designed by Sarah Burton aka designer of princess Kate's wedding dress.
I heart this one.
If I was invited and Salma was not wearing this, I would have worn this dress!

Eva Mendes look BEAU-TI-FUL in her Stella McCartney dress.
Stella is one of my favorite designers and I mostly love anything she makes.

Jennifer Hudson, who is amazing, wore Vera Wang.
Here together with the queen of dresses herself, Vera Wang, she looked absolutely stunning!
Love this colour on her!
Ms. Wang herself looked amazing as well in her own yellow design

I think SJP is always on my good list!
I love her beautiful Alexander McQueen dress.
The detailing is just amazing.

I am in LOVE with Ashley Greene's Donna Karen gown.
GORGEOUS!

Liv Tyler choose an amazing Givenchy dress for the evening.
Look at the matching clutch.
Nice touch!

Rachel Roy wore this amazing dress of her own design.
I love the elegance and simplicity of this dress!

Caroline Trentini(???) in a beautiful nude Michael Kors dress.
Me likey!

Constance Jablonski and Liu Wen, both in beautiful Alexander McQueen gowns!
Also wanted to compliment Constance on rocker hairdo.
Looks beautiful and puts the focus on the amazing neckline of the dress!

The Bad and Ugly

Jeez Louise... Where do I even start?
Even though I loved SJP's McQueen dress, this one is just horrendous!
And I think it looks even worse on Ms. Campbell.
Just one big NO!

Love the Stella McCartney dress.
But the make up, the fake hair and the awful accesories.
No no no!
Dries van Noten is a dutch designer and being a Dutchie I am proud to see some dutch designs coming down the red carpet.. But this is just all wrong!
Solange Knowles and this dress really hit a miss here.

For the occasion, Fergie wanted to borrow her mothers wedding dress.

Oh man, Kirsten Dunst... Sorry girl but this Chanel dress is a big NO!

Eeek! Little Elle Fanning.... No no no!
I know this is Valentino... And I love this designs.
But this one doesn't do anything for me.

What were your hits and misses of the evening?
Which dress would you wear?

All my love,

Elle
